Our Weekend :)

Everybody LOVE weekends. Yes... Definitely! For us, Khamis petang after the kids back from school & Baba balik keje, dah mula plan macam2, order nak makan macam2, nak beli tu... beli ni... Hehehe ;)

This weekend dapat masak lasagna. Ni first time buat. Selalu nak makan, beli jek. Menjadi... Yeay!

At night after cari barang rumah di Doha City, kami ke City Centre untuk relax2 & makan2 sket @ Applebees. Budak2 suka makan sini, the food sedap!

 Alhamdulillah. Really enjoy the food. The steak was juicy!

On Friday, masak Nasi Minyak. Teringat dulu2 kami adik-beradik kalau Jumaat jek dapat makan Nasi Minyak & others special dishes arwah mak masak. Rasanya bukan kami aje yg suka Nasi Minyak arwah mak masak... others also love it. Johor that time weekends was Friday & Saturday. Rasa seronok sangat masa tu... tgk arwah ayah kalau ke masjid with his complete Baju Melayu Teluk Belanga & Songket. More time at home on Friday.... bersantai kat rumah & dapat makan special. Oh rindunya pada arwah mak & ayah :(

And yesterday, setelah sekian lama teringin nak ke Wholesale Market, Vegetables Market, Fish Market, Omani Market (semuanya next to each other) tercapai juga hasrat. Seperti yang dijangka..... melilau cari market yg sepatutnya we all nak pergi. The Wholesale Market memang jual vegetables, fruits, etc in bulk. Siap ada org stand by with kereta sorong hijau yg biasanya digunakan utk angkat simen. Hahahaha.... rasa2nya berapa banyak stok nak angkut ni?! Kami jalan2 jugak la kat situ... seronok tgk others dok borong mcm2 & meriah sungguh suasana there. Dapat beli 1 box of kiwi QR8 (sgt murah!) & 1 box of jackfruit for QR15. Itu jek yg kami nampak diorg jual in smaller boxes.

Kami pun pusing2 that area utk cari the Vegetables & Fish Market, which supposed to be nearby. Akhrinya dapat juga cari. Saya suka lah pasar2 kat sini. Bersih, fresh & teratur. Pasar sayur2, ikan & other seafood, ayam, daging... semuanya dalam building yg lain but next to each other. Kalau kat Fish Market, dalam pasar tu kita cuma membeli shj, kerja2 menyiang & membersihkan ikan ada other section kat luar pasar tu... need to 'Q'.... ada byk counter. Dapat beli ikan kerapu for QR13 (1kg QR25... cheap!), udang besar sekilo QR43 & sotong sekilo QR20. Cukuplah dulu..... dah fridge ada lagi tenggiri :) Beli daging gak sb teringin nak makan satay. Kena buat sendiri la nampak gayanya....

Bought okras, eggplants, tomatoes, celery, 2 green leafy vege (nama tak tau sbb tak pernah jumpa, saja nak try), mangos, oranges, strawberries, bananas.... huuishh... banyak tuuuu! Tak tahan tgk all the fruits. Tu pun Aryssa dok nak beli tembikai.. masuk list next visit. 

 

 

 Rambutan & manggis pun ada jual sini... tapi harga pepaham jek la.

Mr. Hubby & the kids pulak tgh berkobar2 with gardening. The kids school project this term pun pasal bercucuk tanam ni. Hadeef dah start menanam pokok dia at school, while Aryssa will start next week. So, kami ke nursery nearby & bought some plants. Kat sini pun tak tahan tgk pokok2 bunga. Time winter ni semua berbunga... cantik! I wonder mcmana la nanti time summer.

Dear Parents,

The children had a lot of fun at the Zoo last week learning about animal habitats. Many thanks to those parents who joined us. We also had the Declamation Contest heats in class. All the children did really well reciting the poem by heart and developed their confidence in public speaking. The final will take place this Wednesday in the usual morning assembly. Our class will be represented by Jessie-Ellen Doherty.

Phonics and spelling – words with ‘wh’ sound, e.g. whisper, why, whenever

Reading, writing, talking and listening – Linked to international author visit – Simon Murray

Continue to work with features of non-fiction text to source information, e.g. contents page, glossary and index, page headings and sub-headings, pictures, diagrams and captions.

In Maths

Consolidate work with 2, 5, 10 tables and problem solving within a context.

Doubling and halving numbers up to 20 and beyond for those who are ready to move on.

Unit 2 Block B

In IPC

Continue to learn about a range of habitats and environments.

Technology – design and make a miniature secret garden.

Geography – through map reading, learn the meaning of geographical terms, such as North, South, East, West, hill, lake, bridge, forest, etc.

Rindu Malaysia : Aiskrim Malaysia

Amboi.... sejuk2 pun melayan makan aiskrim!

Sejak kontena dah sampai ni, banyak la stok & barang2 makanan sampai. Dapur dah complete... Alhamdulillah. Mommy senang hati. Plastik nak buat Aiskrim Malaysia memang dah siap2 masuk kontena sebelum ke sini. Aryssa bukan main pesan banyak kali supaya jangan lupa. First batch, buat Milo flavor.. one of our favorite. Tapi saya paling suka asam boi :)

Dear hubby soh jual time summer nanti... yek yek je. Nak jual katne? Terbaik kat sekolah tapi ada karang kena tangkap. Sia2 jek....

Tak boleh tahan.....

Adoi. Semakin sejuk kat sini. Memang tak boleh tahan. Adakah sebab sebahagian saya adalah keturunan Jawa? Orang cakap Javanese ni tak tahan sejuk. Betul ke?

Heater kat rumah cuma 2. Kengkadang rasa macam tak membantu. Rasa nak peluk jek heater tu.

Tu kalau kat dalam rumah. Kalau di luar.... adoi adoi adoi mcmana nak selubung, peluk2, bergulung2 dalam gebar 4 orang. Cannot cannot cannot! Sekolah budak2 ni pun satu hal. Time2 winter ni ada juga outdoor activities. This 31st Jan ada Water Aid Run & Picnic... apakah?

Roasted Chicken with Veggies

One of our favorite dish. Every week masak roast chicken sbb senang & semua suka. Byk version and this is one of it.

Saya selalu rebus dulu ayam & veggies yg keras mcm potatoes, carrots & corns. Ayam perap dgn olive oil, honey, salt, oyster sauce, pepper, fresh rosemary & lemon squeeze. Then, masukkan the lemon dalam ayam tu.

Potatoes, carrots, celery, mushrooms & tomatoes

Halia, bwg besar & bwg putih just belah 2 jek.

All mix with olive oil, salt & pepper

 At 200 degrees for 45 minutes

Kalau nak garing all parts, kena balik2kan ayam

Siap! Boleh makan ngan black pepper sauce with mushroom, mushroom sauce, chilli sauce or anything your choice. Makan mcm tu aje pun dah sedap :) Our favorite, Nando's Peri-Peri Sauce

A visit to Doha Zoo

Last month bila time table belum pada sebab budak2 belum start sekolah, kami pergilah raund mana2 yang sempat. As usual, dah namanya budak2, sampai2 Doha terus tanya Baba, "Kat sini ada zoo tak?"

Overall ok jugak zoo sini cuma type of animals agak terhad. Entrance fee : Adult QR5 & Child QR2.. and FOC for Qatari. Visitors here fed the animals with popcorn. Biar betul?! Both Aryssa & Hadeef merengek2 kenapa tak beli popcorn for the animals. Adoi.... kalau awak yang nak makan tu ok lagi. Before keluar, singgah la beli popcorn kat kedai dalam tu, nak puaskan hati. Haaaaa.... bila makan baru la tau sedap ke tidak kan... mmg popcorn here memang tak berapsa sedap. Rasa lemak masin, takde manis langsung. So, balik rumah... kami pun alter laa popcorn tu, Cairkan butter + gula + honey & mix everything = Nyum!
